Pressure vs Pressurize

Wrong: Stop pressurizing me!

Explanation: According to freedictionary.com, the word “pressurize” means “to increase the pressure in (an enclosure, such as an aircraft cabin) in order to maintain approximately atmospheric pressure when the external pressure is low”.

For example: The captain will pressurize the cabin for the passengers’ comfort. (The captain will increase the pressure in the cabin to maintain the atmospheric pressure).

If you’ve ever travelled in an airplane or are a frequent flyer, you know what I mean.

However, pressurize can also be used to define the stress or strain although such use is quite informal, figurative and rare.

For example: He’s an executive who was pressurized by a heavy workload. (he’s subject to excessive stress, strain, or vexation)

Yacht or Yatch?

 Today, while working on a workout on the  Elevate app, I came across a word and I spelled it as Yatch. And it was wrong, obviously. I might have learned the correct spelling of Yacht when I was a kid. But over the years, I had remembered it as Yatch.  I guess it happened because I did not knew the correct pronunciation of the word. Instead of pronouncing it as  jɒt , I had alway pronounced it as  j atʃ , similar to 'match'.

Opinion as Openion

When I tried to type Opinion today, three time I typed Openion . First, I doubt on the spelling after 2 minutes, and then moved to Orkut scrapbook page (I need a text area on Firefox to check spellings by it's inbuilt spell checker). Then I came to know that I made that mistake. After that also, I tried to type it 2 more times, and typed Openion instead of Opinion , but this time I caught it while typing, before finishing the word.
